It’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything about Timbaland’s much-delayed fourth studio album Opera Noir. Originally titled Shock Value 3, the project remains a mystery by far and any information on its is very scarce. The only single it has spawned remains the 2013 “Know Bout Me” featuring Jay Z, Drake and James Fauntleroy, but there is a great chance the track has been scrapped.
Earlier this week, the renowned producer was one of the presenters at Day 3 of the iHeart Music Summit in Burbank, CA where he updated the status of the full-length record, which will feature input from guests including Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliot and Empire star Veronika Bozeman. Timbo reportedly told the audience he has bared his soul on the project and promised to deliver a new single called “Smile” in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Timbaland also took to Instagram to shed light on Aaliyah’s legacy. He teased his followers by announcing he plans on liberating unreleased music by Baby Girl sooner than we all think.
"Attention!!!!! People ask me all the time do I have any babegirl music we haven't heard !!!!!well the answer is YES!!!!!!!! TIMBO x BABEGIRL !!!!! Sneak peak coming !!!!!!!,”
he wrote. Keep it locked to 24Urban for more information on Opera Noir, Aaliyah’s unreleased recordings and “Smile.”
